Magisterial Investigation Report Submitted to DM in Matter of Hathras Custodial Death

The custodial death of worker of Hindu Jagran Manch took place at Chandpa Police Station in Hathras. The order of Magisterial probe was passed.

The probe was led by Additional District Magistrate Mohammed Moinul Islam and the report of probe is submitted to the District Magistrate Ramesh Ranjan.

On May 17 Rajkumar Chauhan was detained during the dispute between two groups and next morning his health deteriorated because of which he was taken to the hospital. The Police claimed that he died when his treatment was taking place.

“Four cops have been suspended and a case has been registered at Chandpa Poilce Station. The guilty will be booked” stated DIG Aligarh Range on May 17.

His family has alleged that Police had beaten the Rajkumar which caused his death but in the post-mortem it was stated that he died due to Cardiac arrest.

The investigation was transferred to Aligarh Police so that the investigation cannot be termed as bias and partial.

The compensation of 5 Lakh rupees was awarded to the family of Rajukumar from CM’s Discretionary Fund.

According to the investigation five policemen from Chandpa Police Station booked along with four other accused. The In-charge of Chandpa Police Station was also booked in the case.

“We have been demanding a CBI probe to ensure a free and impartial probe to ensure that culprits should be arrested. No policemen have been arrested so far,” said Chauhan’s daughter Sakshi Chauhan.
