Lalu Prasad Yadav’s bail hearing deferred to February 5th by Jharkhand High Court

On 29th January 2021, the High Court of Jharkhand deferred Mr. Lalu Prasad Yadav, the former Chief Minister of Bihar’s hearing after more time was sought by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) from the court.

On this request, the High Court gave the CBI directions to file their reply before the 5th of February, the next hearing date given by the Court

A single bench led by Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh preceded Mr. Yadav’s bail plea hearing with regards to the Dumka treasury case.

Mr. Yadav’s counsel, Advocate Devarshi Mandal stated that his client had gained bail in three separate cases from this one.

While serving his sentence for his role in the case of the fodder scam, Mr. Lalu Prasad Yadav had been admitted to the RIMS hospital located in Ranchi city citing worsening health conditions.

He had been shifted to AIIMS hospital in New Delhi after his condition continued to worsen the week before.
