The Lahore High Court suspended an order of district and session court to register a case against Pakistan cricket captain Babar Azam and two others in a harassment case.

Justice Asjad Javed Gharral while hearing a petition of Babar Azam issued notices to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and complainant Hamiza Mukhtar seeking their response on the case matter.

Before Babar Azam took the Captaincy for the Pakistan cricket team, a girl from Lahore Hameeza mukhtar made serious allegations of sexual and financial abuse against him.

The session’s court in its order booked a case against Azam for blackmailing and harassing Hamiza mukhtar and two other women, identified as Maryam Ahmed and Salemi Bibi, and ordered the Investigation agency to investigate the matter.

Babar Azam in his petition before the High Court stated that the session’s court failed to provide any valid reasons for registering a case against him under Cyber Crime Act and he, thus, prayed the court to reject and suspend the order of the session court.
