Kheri Violence Case: UP Court rejects Bail Plea of Ashish Misra & 2 others

On Monday, Uttar Pradesh-based Sessions Court rejected the Bail Applications of Ashish Misra and two others in Lakhimpur Kheri Violence case. 

District and Sessions Judge Mukesh Mishra, who was hearing the Bail Applications, rejected the Bail Application of Ashish Misra, who is the son of Union Minister of State for Home, Ajay Misra Teni, Ashish Pandey, and Lavkush Rana.

According to Arvind Tripathi, Counsel appearing for District Government, during the 2-hour long hearing, the Prosecution produced a lot of evidence to prove the involvement of Ashish and two others. 

Tripathi stated that along with a Case Diary of the case, the Prosecution produced forensic and ballistic reports of four guns received from a forensic science laboratory.

Adding to this, they also submitted statements of around 60 eyewitnesses to prove the involvement of Ashish Misra and two others.

Considering all the given evidence and after listening to the arguments, the UP-based Court denied Bail to Ashish Misra, Ashish Pandey, and Lavkush Rana.

However, according to reports, the Court had earlier in the day reserved its order on the Bail Applications filed by Accused Ashish Misra and two others.

The case is all about Ashish Misra running his car over protesting farmers which resulted in the Death of four farmers UP’s Lakhimpur Kheri.

Apart from this, a Journalist who was covering the incident also Died because of the Violence.

Later on, a video was circulated on the internet which showed a black jeep running over a group of protesting farmers.Following this, UP State Government formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to Investigate the Violence.
