Indrani Mukherjee who is an under – trial accused in the Sheena Bora Murder case has filed an application before the Special CBI court in Mumbai seeking exclusion from wearing a green saree which is a convict’s uniform in the jail.
The court directed the Byculla jail to file a reply on the application.
The application filed by Mukherjea said that the authorites has asked her to wear a jail uniform which was a green saree despite her being an under trial accused.
In 2012, Indrani along with Peter Mukherjea and ex husband Sanjeev Khanna had murdered Sheena bora out of financial disputes.
After three years, in 2015, the murder was dicovered by the police. Her driver Shyamvar Rai, was arrested in another case where he disclosed about the murder of Sheena.
Later, Indrani, Peter and Khanna were arrested for murdering Sheena.
The court will next hear on her application on 5 January 202.
