A Delhi Court ordered the police to file a complaint against BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra for posting a doctored video of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, depicting him as supporting the recently overturned farm rules.

Rishikesh Kumar of the Aam Aadmi Party stated on Twitter that they have requested judicial directives under Section 156(3) of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC). Atishi, a member of the Aam Aadmi Party, Petitioned the Court, claiming that the Police declined to file a first information report in the case.

According to the Complaint, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra tweeted a modified video of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal on social media in January this year in relation to farmers. The Accused fraudulently and intentionally faked the original film and shared the false, manufactured, and tempered video on social media with the sole purpose of inciting society members against the Complainant and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, according to the Complainant.

Further, Complainant filed a formal complaint with the Station House Officer (SHO) at New Delhi’s IP Estate Police Station on February 2, 2021, who informed the Complainant that a FIR would be filed, but to their surprise nothing happened.
