The Delhi High Court stated that a more efficient way needs to be adapted to clear out all the bill payments of the Lawyers of the Delhi Government.
Justice Pratiba M Singh stated that the whole process needs improvement to make sure speedy payments are done otherwise the Government must pay interest.
The Court further stated that “Considering that the lawyers for the GNCTD (Government of N.C.T. of Delhi) are providing regular assistance to the Court across whole Delhi, laying out a timeline for payment of their bills is very important for their continued and efficient services”.
The Court also ordered the Additional Chief Secretary who is in charge of clearing the bills to be present before the Court on the next hearing on 14th September.
