The Delhi High Court has issued notice to the city police after pleas were filed by Aam Aadmi Party leaders.

Party members – Raghav Chadha and Atishi were denied permission to protest outside the residences of the Lt. Governor and the Home Minister.

AAP leaders wanted to protest over the misappropriation of funds allegedly done by the BJP-led North Delhi Municipal Corporation.

The MLAs moved to the High Court on 17th December after the police had turned down their request to stage a sit-in protest at the residences.

Misappropriation of funds is alleged to be of around Rs 2,500 crores.

Four AAP leaders were detained earlier, including Aitshi and Chadha – after they had staged a protest at Shah’s residence.

Advocate Gautam Narayan, on behalf of the police, said that as per the order of the DDMA (Delhi Disaster Management Authority) of September 30, all political activities are barred in the national capital till 31st December.

However, counsel for Arvind Kejriwal’s party said that the leaders want to protest peacefully with a limited number of people and without loudspeakers.
