Delhi Court rejects Anticipatory Bail plea of Navneet Kalra

Delhi Court refused to grant anticipatory bail to Navneet kalra, the businessman accused of oxygen concentrator black marketing.

The Additional sessions Judge at Saket Court, Sandeep Garg passed the order.

The prosecution apprised that Kalra along with other co-accused “hatched a conspiracy” to wrongfully make money by “inducing” the public to buy his oxygen concentrators at “exorbitant rate” claiming them to be of premium quality and sufficient for two people.

Delhi Police opposed Kalra’s Bail on the ground that investigation is at the initial stage and custodial interrogation was imperative to further derive his relations with other parties involved.

The prosecution further contended that anticipatory bail cannot be granted to “influential persons” who have the potential to temper evidence.

Senior Advocate Vikas Pahwa with Advocate Vineet Malhotra appeared for kalra and submitted that the accused was being framed and used as a scapegoat to divert attention from pressing issues.

Additionally, on the allegations that the concentrators were sold on exorbitant price, kalra highlighted that no ceiling price has been imposed by the government yet and the concentrators seized from his restaurants were authentic and rightfully imported and were sold only after raising invoices.

The Prosecution represented by APP Atul Srivastava, relying on the reports from Sri Ram Laboratory asserted that the concentrators were of poor quality and were not working.
