A Court in Delhi has granted relief to the Managing Director and Director of Ford India in a Cheating case.

Both, Anurag Mehrotra, MD and David Allan Schock, Director of Ford India, were accused by a car dealer in a Cheating case.

Additional Session Judge Raj Rani granted them relief and approved their Bail application.

“In the event of (their) arrest, applicant(s) be released on interim bail for a period of 30 days on furnishing of bail bonds in a sum of ₹5 lakh,” stated the Judge while granting them Bail.

The Court also directed the two to co-operate with the Investigating Officer during the time period of investigation.

The Court also warned the accused neither to tamper any evidence nor to influence any witness.

The case was filed by Libra Cars, a Ford car dealer, accusing the company that they violated the terms of contract.

According to the FIR, Ford India allotted another dealer within a radius of 10km from the complainant’s showroom.

On the other hand, the lawyers of the accused argued that Ford India has nothing to do with the FIR as the dealership was terminated in March 2019 only and there has been a delay of 18 months for registering the complaint.

Anurag Mehrotra was represented by Advocate Vijay Aggarwal and David Allan Schock was represented by Advocate Rohit Kocchar.

“IO submitted that accused David Allan Schock, who is a resident of USA, has joined the investigation through video conferencing and Anurag Mehrotra has also joined the investigation. IO has also not stated that the specimen signature of applicant is required,” stated the Court while giving the order.
