Pehlu Khan, his two sons and two others were attacked by cow vigilantes on April 1, 2017, accusing them of being cattle smuggler. All the victims were found injured, but Pehlu died after two days of the attach.

Two FIRs were registered after the incident. One against the attack upon Pehlu and others for illegally transporting cattle.

The Chargesheet against Pehlu and others for cattle smuggling was quashed by the Rajasthan High court in 2019. And, trials for Pehlu Khan Lynching Case initiated into Alwar Sessions Court.

All the accused were acquitted by an Alwar Sessions Court on August 14, 2019, giving them benefit of doubt in police investigation.

Against the acquittal Order by the Lower Court, the victim’s sons, Irshad and Arif filed an appeal to the Rajasthan High Court.

Challenging the Lower Court’s order in Pehlu Khan Lynching Case, Rajasthan Government has also filed a plea.

Clubbing the petition by the Rajasthan Government and appeal by the victim’s representatives, the Bench comprised Justice Goverdhan Bardhar and Justice Vijay Bishnoi ordered, “Issuance of bailable warrants against the accused-respondents to secure their presence before this Court in the sum of Rs. 10,000/- returnable within a period of eight weeks.”

The appeal was filed challenging the acquittal in favour of accused persons Vipin Yadav, Ravindra Kumar, Kaluram Dayanad, Yogesh and Bhim Singh.
