Court rejects CBI’s Exemption plea in Unnao case

A Delhi court recently rejected CBI‘s plea to be exempted from filing a Detailed Accident Report of the case where the Unnao Rape Victim’s family Died in a car accident.

Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Rabindra Kumar Pandey while dismissing the plea observed, “Reply of the CBI also reveals that the driving license of the drivers of both vehicles as well as their respective insurance certificates were not verified during the investigation. CBI is supposed to file the report regarding these documents along with DAR”

The Court stated that as per a previous order of Delhi High Court, CBI is supposed to file a Detailed Accident Report and ordered the agency to submit the report within 7 working days.

Meanwhile, expelled BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar also sought the Court’s permission to withdraw his application for addressing arguments on a charge with liberty to contest his right through oral arguments, which was allowed by the Court.
