Court directs Police to investigate Balachandrakumar’s revelations

Kochi Court while hearing the case pertaining to the abduction and sexual assault of a leading actress, on Tuesday directed the police to probe into a recent revelation of a film director that actor Dileep, one of the accused, had accessed the visuals of the assault before it was even produced in court.

The Special Prosecutor appointment afresh for the Case of Kerala actor’ s kidnapping and sexual assault has opted out of the Case.

This is the 2nd time in the year that the Prosecutor of the Case has quit from such a top profile Case.

The first Prosecutor has resigned from the Case days after the High Court quashed the survivor’s Plea to replace the Trial Court Judge.

The Case at the peak with the deadline of concluding it by 16 February, after receiving the extension of 6months for second time.

A female actor was kidnapped and sexually Assaulted on her way back to Kochi in 2017. Dileep, Malayalam actor is the eight accused in the Case who was Arrested in July, 2017 and released on bail 2 months later.

Dileep was arrested for kidnapping and molesting the actress in the car.

The Police officials sought for a new probe after the revelations of Director Balachandra Kumar against Dileep.

The director has Accused Dileep of influencing the witnesses, watching and sharing the video of Assault with group of friends even before it was submitted to the Court.

“ Is the law and order of our state machinery looking into this key testimony from Mr. Balachandra Kumar which has come out in the media recently ? Do the actions alleged in the interview, amount to illegal actions like bribery or intimidation of crucial witnesses?” questioned the Women in Cinema Collection, an women organization that works for the Malayalam actresss
