Court approved a three-day transit remand for Lokesh Srivas, who had been apprehended in Chhattisgarh in connection with a Rs 20-crore robbery at a jewelry store in the national capital, as well as several thefts in Bilaspur city.

Lokesh Srivas, a resident of the area, was brought before Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Manish Kumar Dubey after the conclusion of his three-day custody under the Bilaspur police, as confirmed by Pradeep Arya, the station house officer at Civil Lines police station.

During the hearing, the court granted a three-day transit remand to the Delhi Police for the accused, allowing them to proceed with their investigation. In a memorandum addressed to the Delhi Police, the court requested the law enforcement agency to finalize its inquiry and produce the accused before it within a seven-day timeframe, Arya mentioned.

The arrest of Srivas and his associate, Shiva Chandravanshi, occurred last week as part of a joint operation involving the anti-crime and cyber unit (ACCU) and the Civil Lines police in Bilaspur district. They were detained while being investigated for a series of thefts in Bilaspur city.

It was revealed that the two individuals were allegedly linked to a massive Rs 20-crore heist at a jewelry store in New Delhi, and approximately 18.5 kilograms of gold and diamond ornaments were seized from them.

Additionally, they were allegedly involved in 14 cases of theft within Bilaspur city, including 10 in Civil Lines and two each in the Tarbahar and City Kotwali police station areas, according to a senior official.

Currently, Shiva Chandravanshi is in judicial custody, and is awaiting further legal proceedings.
