The Court appointed Ajay Kumar as an Advocate Commissioner in a Case related to Worship of Shringar Gauri and protection of idols of other deities on the Premises of Gyanvapi Mosque.

The Court has issued a Notice for the Advocate Commissioner to visit the site in the presence of both the parties to prepare a status Report and submit it before the Court.

The Court asked the Advocate Commissioner to ensure his exercise was video graphed and to seek the assistance of Police.

After the filling of this Case before the Court on April 18, 2021, demanding permission for daily worship and performing rituals, and stopping opponents from causing any damage to the statues, Court has already appointed other Lawyers in the past.

After none of the Advocate Commissioners appointed by the Court in the past gave any Report, we appealed for Execution of the Order of the Court to get a status Report of the site. Despite Objections from the other party, which is Anjuman Intejamiya Masjid, the Court accepted it and Ordered the appointment of a new Advocate Commissioner in this regard” the Lawyer for the Plaintiff said.

“While contesting this Case we had raised Objections mentioning that this Plaint should not be admitted because this site is covered under Section 4 of the Places of Worship Act, which says that the religious character of a place of worship shall continue to be the same as it was on August 15, 1947. The Mosque has existed for 600 years and Namaz is offered there” Joint Secretary of Anjuman Intejamiya Masjid, said.
