Apple Inc. plans to ban ‘Fortnite’ from App store until Appeals in Court are exhausted in its legal fight with Epic Games Inc., the maker of the popular Battle-Royale game.

Apple sent a letter to Epic stating, “It will not consider any further requests for reinstatement until the District Court’s judgement becomes final and non-appealable.”

The two companies have been locked in a legal battle since August 2020, when the game maker tried to get around Apple’s 30% fee on some in-app payment system

The battle came to a head this month, with United States District Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers and the Judge said, “The company (Apple) should allow app developers to point users to outside payment systems.”

Developers have long criticized Apple’s commissions of between 15%-30% on many App Stores purchases. It is seen as an unpredictable app-vetting process.
