Allahabad HC Issues Non-Bailable Warrant Against Mathura DM for Defying its Order

The Allahabad High Court issue Non-Bailable warrant against Mathura District Magistrate Navneet Singh Chahal and directed Police to produce the Indian Administrative Service Officer in Court on May 12 over “his failure to ensure Compliance of Court’s Order for Payment of Pension to Applicants”.

“It is expected that a District Magistrate should know the Basic Principle of Law that till an Order is stayed, it shall remain in force, and the Authority is bound to comply with it,” Justice Saral Shrivastava said.

High Court cancel the Order passed by the Chahal denied Payment of Pension to four application, on September 6, 2021.

The District Magistrate was alleged to have issued another Order, upholding another earlier position.

This, the High Court termed, is “nothing but a gross contemptuous act by the District Magistrate inasmuch as it cann’t be believed that such an officer could not understand that the intent and simple language in which the order of this Court was passed”.
