The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) arrested Bollywood Star Armaan Kohli yesterday morning after illicit substances were allegedly discovered in his Mumbai home, according to an NCB official.
“A small quantity of cocaine has been seized from his (Armaan Kohli) house,” stated Sameer Wankhede, Zonal Director of NCB’s Mumbai Zonal Unit.
Wankhede stated that “Apart from just consumption there are several other charges leveled against him. He will be produced in the Court on Monday.”
The case has international ties, as the cocaine confiscated is from South America, according to the inquiry.
The NCB Mumbai is looking into the route and connections utilized to bring the recovered cocaine to Mumbai, as well as other traffickers’ involvement.
On Saturday, a squad from the anti-drugs agency apprehended Ajay Raju Singh, a big drug peddler who owned illegal substances.
According to Singh’s information, a team of NCB agents raided Arman Kohli’s home in suburban Andheri and discovered a small amount of cocaine.
Singh reportedly informed NCB that he has previously provided drugs to Kohli and that Kohli has also purchased drugs from another suspect who is on the run.
According to the authorities, Singh also distributed drugs to other high-profile clients who are now under the NCB radar.
While NCB officers claim that they have established Kohli’s connections with peddlers, including some foreign nationals, sources indicate that the actor is eligible for Bail because the amount of cocaine confiscated from him is 1.2gm, which falls under the category of “Personal Consumption.”
If the defence can show that the amount confiscated was merely for personal consumption, the Court may release Kohli and order him to participate in a three-month rehabilitation program.
Kohli, who was a participant on Bigg Boss, has appeared in Hindi films like Jaani Dushman, Qahar, Juaari, Dushman Zamana, and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo.
