Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Punjab, Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh have accounted for 81.9% of the 1,03,558 new infections.

Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra and Punjab cumulatively account for 75.88% of total active cases in India.
India became the second country, following US, to report 100,000 fresh infections in a day. India’s cases of new infections increased many manifolds when authorities removed restrictions and people stopped wearing masks and follow social distancing.

However, India still has one of the lowest fatality rates. Recent upsurge has seen 478 deaths and the total count has reached to 165,101.
