BACKGROUND –

Joba Majhi was born in Chakradharpur, West Singhbum on 24^th May, 1960 and is currently 61 years old. She was married to now late Devendra Majhi who was the leader of Singhbum’s Jungle Andolan.

She is a tribal MLA and therefore tries improving the condition of local tribes and that they get their rights. She is a two-time MLA from Manoharpur constituency and currently is the Minister of Women and Child Development of state of Jharkhand
