REMARKABLE ACHIEVEMENT- He has taken up and fought a lot of issues inside and outside the parliament. Some of his efforts have succeeded. Some of them include the Hubli- Ankola Railway line, New good shed at Navalur, Modernization of Hubli railway workshop, procurement of funds from the central government for various developmental activities such as up gradation of Hubli airport to international standards and many more.

AWARDS – He was awarded with the CERA Weekly global Energy and Environment Leadership award.

Pralhad Joshi is an Indian Politician who is the current Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs;Minister of Coals and mines since 30 May 2019. He is politically affiliated to BJP.

BACKGROUND – He has been a member of the Lok Sabha since 2004 and was elected to the 17th Lok Sabha in 2018 from the Dharwad District, he was also the State President of the BJP. He also served in the panel of chairpersons of Lok Sabha.

UPBRINGING & EDUCATION – Mr. Joshi belongs to a humble yet respectable family. He was the third child in his family. He completed his primary education in Railway School, High school education from New English School, Hubli and graduation from Sri Kadasiddeshwar Arts College, Hubli. He is married to Smt. Jyothi and is blessed with three children.

WALK OF LIFE– An industrialist by vocation, he ingratiated himself into the political fray by organizing a movement to hoist the Tri-color flag at Idagah Maidan, Hubli Karnataka during 1992-1994. He was then elected the President of BJP in Dharwad District. He’s won three consecutive terms from that constituency.

Conducted many free general health and eye camps and thousands of patients have been provided free medical care

He is also associated with mid-day meals project for many primary school children and above 86000 children are being fed

Changes were also made in the mines act to create more jobs and allow the private sector with enhanced tech in mining

CONTROVERSIES/CASES – Mr. Joshi had accused Mr. Kondaiah of being involved in an effort to cause a major revenue loss. He denied those allegations and threatened Mr. Joshi that he would file a case of defamation against him if he doesn’t apologize publicly.

He was also filed under IPC section 153A for charges relating to promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, caste, place of birth, residence, language and doings acts prejudicial to maintenance of harmony.
