Debasree Chaudhuri is the state minister for the development of women and children in the second half of Modi in the Indian government, and is affiliated with the Bharatiya Janata Party.
BACKGROUND: On 16 December 2016, Chaudhuri was arrested along with Baisnabnagar MP Swadhin Kumar Sarkar and other BJP local leaders in a protest against the comments made by Maulauna Noor Rahman Barkati, Shahi Iman of Tipu Sultan Mosque in Kolkata.
Debashree Chowdhury was previously the District Observer of the BJP Kolkata South Suburban District until 2019. In the 2019 national elections, Chaudhuri won the Raiganj Lok Sabha constituency by 511652 votes. In May 2019, Chaudhuri became the Minister of State for the Development of Women and Children.
