WALK OF LIFE AS JURIST– Debi Singh Tewatia started the career at Gurgaon District Courts in the year 1955. In 1957, he was shifted to the Punjab and Haryana High Court and got elected secretary of the High Court Bar Association in 1965. In May 1969 he got elected as the Haryana Advocate General and held the position till February 1970. He was appointed as the
additional judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court in February 1970, and also served as the permanent judge in April 1972. He was transferred to the Karnataka High Court in the year 1976 due to his tough stands against the government. He was transferred back to Punjab and Haryana High Court and served till July 1977. He was appointed as the Chief Justice of Calcutta in October 1987 and served it till May 1988. And resigned in the year 1989.
