Published a book ‘Char Dham ki Avismarniy Yatra’ on Kedarnath ghati in 2014 and another one called ‘Trineta’ in 2016. He also wrote about the Kedarnath deluge, Uttarakhand in 2013.
His slogan ‘Ghar-Ghar me ho sochalaya ka nirman, tabhi hoga ladli bitya ka kanyadaan’ made his scheme very famous all over Bihar.

BACKGROUND – Ashwini Kumar has been associated with the BJP for almost five decades and was earlier associated with the Jansangh. He is a member of the 16th Lok Sabha representing Buxar constituency and a former health minister of Bihar. He contested and won 17thh Lok Sabha from Buxar constituency. He took in charge of office as Minister of State for Health in Narendra Modi’s government.
UPBRINGING & EDUCATION – Ashwini Kumar Choubey has a B.Sc (Hons) in Zoology. He was educated at the Science College, Patna University, Patna, Bihar. He is a veteran politician from Bihar who was elected to the Bihar Legislative Assembly for five consecutive terms.
WALK OF LIFE- Member of the Rashtriya Swayamseva Sangathan (RSS) since 1964. Participated in the Student’s movement against the Chief Minister of Bihar in 1967-68. He was imprisoned under DIR and MISA in the Phulwari sharif jail and bihar jail kand.

CONTROVERSIES/CASES – In September 2019, he said that cow urine should be used in medicines and treatment of cancer, for which he was seriously criticized for lack of scientific temper. He also said that the former Prime Minister Morarji Desai, used to consume cow urine as it cures various diseases.
