Yogi Adityanath Government announces that it had initiated the process to bring an Ordinance to curb unlawful conversions methods like Love Jihad and inducements in the state.
Yesterday Uttar Pradesh State Law Commission had submitted a report on the illegal Religious Conversion to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, along with a draft ‘Uttar Pradesh Freedom of Religion Act, 2019’, proposing that “Conversion done for sole purpose of marriage to be declared null and void”.
Uttar Pradesh Government last month announces that sooner a law will be introduced to curb Love Jihad.
Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath on several occasions and recently in a public meeting in Jaunpur said that those waging “love jihad” should either mend their ways or be prepared for their final journey, “Ram naam satya hai ki yatra nikalne wali hai”.
