New Year Celebration: As per NGT order Burning firecrackers in Delhi can lend you to Jail this year

As per the orders issued by National Green Tribunal (NGT), anyone who is caught burning firecrackers in the national capital will be punished with fine or with fine and an imprisonment upto to 6 years both.

Delhi Pollution Control Board has issued a notification saying those found violating the NGT order on firecrackers will be booked and they can be punished with a jail term of up to 6 years.

In its recent order National Green Tribunal had imposed a blanket ban on use and sale of firecrackers before Diwali due to increasing air pollution.

Authorities concerned with air pollution received numbers of  complaint alleging that a people violating NGT order, the board will first probe the matter. If it is satisfied that the person violated NGT orders and its directions, the board will forward the complaint to an appropriate court.
