The Gurugram Police have issued a notice to social media influencer and Bigg Boss OTT 2 winner, Elvish Yadav, summoning him for investigation in connection with the physical assault case involving YouTuber Sagar Thakur at a garment shop in Delhi.
The notice, issued by the Sector 53 Police Station on Saturday under Section 41A of the Criminal Procedure Code, requires Elvish Yadav to appear before the authorities. According to ACP Sadar Kapil Ahlawat, a case has been registered against eight to ten individuals, including Elvish Yadav, and an investigation is currently underway.
The incident came to light after Thakur, known as ‘Maxtern’ on YouTube, posted a video alleging that he was assaulted by Elvish Yadav and his associates following a confrontation on social media platforms.
The clash originated when Thakur shared posts regarding Elvish Yadav’s interaction with fellow Bigg Boss winner Munawar Faruqui during a cricket match. Elvish Yadav, known for his vocal Hindutva support, faced criticism from his followers for his association with Faruqui, who was previously arrested for alleged remarks about Hindu deities.
In response to the incident, Thakur filed an FIR against Elvish Yadav, accusing him of attempting to injure him severely and disable him. The FIR, registered in Gurugram’s Sector 53, includes charges under IPC sections 147 (punishment for rioting), 149 (unlawful assembly), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), and 506 (criminal intimidation).
Thakur further alleged that Elvish Yadav struck him on his spine with a mobile phone and issued multiple death threats, both on and off-camera.
Elvish Yadav, in his response on Saturday, addressed Thakur’s accusations, asserting his side of the story. He claimed that Thakur threatened to harm him and his family, which provoked him. Additionally, Elvish Yadav mentioned that Thakur had set up cameras in the garments shop to record the incident.
As the investigation progresses, both parties’ statements and evidence will play a crucial role in determining the course of action in this case. The police continue their efforts to ensure justice is served in accordance with the law.
