The Farm Law Committee held a meeting with renowned academicians and professionals to take heed of their opinions and comments.
A total of 7 such visionaries were invited to meet through video conferencing for discussions over the disputed three farm laws. The academicians and professionals have also shared their views to the Committee members , Pramod Joshi, Dr. Ashok Gulati, and Anil Ghanwat.
Earlier, on 11th February 2021, the Supreme Court-appointed Committee had an interaction with the government officials of 18 states.
The next day, on 12th February 2021, the Committee met 12 farmer unions from 8 states through video conferencing.
The Supreme Court on 12th January 2021 directed a Committee to be appointed to negotiate about the three disputed farm laws with the farmers’ unions and the Centre.
The Committee comprises Pramod Kumar Joshi, Anil Ghanwat and Ashok Gulati. Bhupinder Singh Mann, who was a part of the Panel earlier, had recently backed out.
Criticisms poured in following the composition of the Committee stating that all the panel members supported the Farm Laws. However, the Supreme Court disagreed with this and on 20th January 2021 reassured that the Committee’s purpose was only to report to the Apex Court and not to adjudicate.
