DGCA asked IndiGo CEO to take strict action against the violation in Flight

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has objected strongly on violation took place on the IndiGo flight in which some media persons violated safety and social distancing norms while reporting about Kangana Ranaut, while travelling to Mumbai.

DGCA has written a strongly worded letter to IndiGo CEO and asked the airline to take strict action against the violators, failing which it will take “suitable action” against it.

DGCA also issued an order warning all domestic airlines that it would suspend a flight for two weeks if any violation is found hereafter. The DGCA has directed IndiGo to take action against all IndiGo employees who have violated guidelines and SOPs, and submit an action taken report within 15 days.

The DGCA warned it will take suitable action if the airlines fail to submit the report. Incident occurred while Knagna Ranut travelling Chandigarh to Mumbai on Friday.

The prominent ones include photography on board a flight (violation of Aircraft rules 13), violation of Covid-19 protocols and certain actions falling within the purview of unruly behaviour on board.

DGCA official told media.“We have asked IndiGo to take appropriate action against those responsible,”
