The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) swept the polls for the five municipal wards by winning four of five wards. Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) won four seats including Kalyanpuri, Rohini-C and Shalimar Bagh (North), and Trilokpuri. The Congress, on the other hand, won the Chauhan Banger ward.

For the BJP the results seem to be a setback. BJP enjoys a majority in all three municipal corporations of Delhi.

As per official figures, 59.19 percent votes were cast in Kalyanpuri, 55.95 percent in Trilokpuri, 55.60 percent in Chauhan Bangar, 44.58 percent in Rohini-C, and 43.23 percent in Shalimar Bagh Northwards.

The voter turnout recorded in all five wards was 50.86 percent.

This is also the first electoral exercise being conducted in the national capital amid the corona virus pandemic. More than 50 percent of voters had cast their votes with the highest voting percentage recorded in Kalyanpuri and the lowest in Shalimar Bagh North, election officials said.
