A Division Bench of Justice Hima Kohli and Justice Subramonium Prasad of the High Court of Delhi vacated the stay on reserving 80 percent ICU beds in 33 private hospitals for COVID-19 patients.

The stay was imposed by a single-judge bench of the same court.
However, the court directed that no person in case of emergency should run from pillar to post in search of medical help.

The High Court was hearing the petition filed by the Delhi government against the single-judge bench’s interim imposition of interim stay on the reservation of ICU beds to COVID-19 patients.

The bench said, “In view of the present situation in Delhi, the spiralling cases and the ground reality which is different from how it was when the stay order was passed, the stay order on the reservation is vacated.”

Earlier, the Supreme Court had directed the government to approach the High Court as the case was pending here.
