The US Supreme Court is going to hear oral arguments tomorrow on the signature achievement of the Obama administration – the Affordable Care Act, popularly known as Obamacare.

Post elections, amid the pandemic, the court will be deciding the fate of 20 million Americans, which could result in losing out the insurance. However, for the rich, it’ll be a relief from the heavy burden of the tax.

Obamacare has been in the eyes of the Republicans, and they’ve loathed it.
They argued that the “individual mandate” of the ACA, i.e, to either get the insurance or pay the penalty, was unconstitutional.

The Trump administration’s argument was supported by Texas, which said that if the individual mandate is eliminated, the whole ACA would’ve collapsed.

It is to be seen whether the court would repeal the whole law or some provisions.

The primary goals of the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) are to make health insurance available and affordable to more people and to reduce the cost of innovative medical care delivery.
