The Special Judge Justice Geetanjli Goel has extended the custody of Satyendar Jain for 14 days as pleaded by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

Satyendar Jain who is politician from Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and also holding the post of Delhi Health Minister has attended the proceeding through video conferencing as he was hospitalized due to ill health.

The Judge earlier refused to entertain the plea as on the ground that neither the advocates nor Satyendar Jain no one was present in the hearing later ED informed the Court that Jain was hospitalized.

After getting the information about Jain court asked to make him present later in the day through video conference.

The counsel representing ED had pointed out that search was made in two premises on June 8 and June 17 and there ED had found some evidences which are against the Jain and many people were interrogated who are named under the offense with him.

The Counsel submitted that process of investigation is still in progress and that is why Jain’s judicial custody should be extended further.

The Court decided to extend the judicial custody of Jain by 14 days.

The counsel of Satyendra Jain submits that CBI has registered the case against him on 2017, ED has started investigation based on that since five years he was cooperating with the ED. He was present whenever he called and denied the allegation.

He further stated that he has no link with the persons named in the case although surnames may match.
