The State government in Andhra Pradesh to set up special courts to deal with violence against Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (STs), for cases registered under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989, to ensure speedy justice.

Supported by the words of Chief Minister, Y. S Jagan Mohan Reddy, who had earlier pushed emphasis on cases regarding crimes against SCs and STs, the Social Welfare Minister P. Viswaroop stated that they were holding a high power committee for the issue.

The Chief Minister speaks of action against police officers too, stating that the total percentage of cases being completed had increased from 3.6% to 7.1%, with the CM appointing more additional public prosecutors.

There are plans of rehabilitation of the victims as well, where there is a provision to provide government jobs for the victims of these cases with an additional amount that would be paid under the CM Relief Fund.
