Violence, lathicharge near ITO, Red Fort and various locations in Delhi

Protesters Chanting ‘rang de Basanti’ and ‘jai jawan jai kisan’ numerous farmers rode tractors, motorbikes, horses and even cranes to cross the national capital’s borders into the city for their proposed parade against the three contentious farm laws.

The protesters brandished swords and clashed with the police deployed at Noida mod near Delhi’s Akshardham after they were tear-gassed and lathi-charged.

In retaliation, agitated protesters ran towards the police personnel with their swords. The video of the incident shows the police using tear gas shells to push back the farmers who had taken out their swords.

Police used tear gas on groups of farmers, who were part of the Republic Day tractor rally in protest against the farm laws, when they tried to break past barricades and cemented barriers with tractors near Delhi’s Akshardham.

Thousands of farmers protesting against the three farm laws began their first of a kind tractor parade in the national capital even before the Republic Day parade started at Rajpath and much before the time they were granted permission by Delhi Police for the event.

Delhi Police using tear gas on a group of farmers after they breached barricades, attacked police personnel, and vandalised a police bus at ITO in Central Delhi.
