A Delhi Court has ordered one-day custody of Environment Activist Disha Ravi. The Police are seeking a 5-day custody of the Activist who was the accused in the Toolkit case.

Ravi’s bail plea is pending before Additional Sessions Judge Dharmender Rana. He is expected to deliver the verdict on 23rd February 2021. Siddharth Agarwal, Counsel for Disha Ravi, opposed the demands of the Police. He questioned-

‘The Police have a right to interrogate the accused even in the jail. Why would you require to take her in police custody?’

Ravi was arrested from her house in Bengaluru following Thunberg’s tweet and is now under police custody since 14th February 2021.

Disha Ravi, along with Nikita Jacob and Shantanu, was alleged to have been involved in a conspiracy relating to the Farmers’ Protest in Delhi.

Ravi was arrested, while Jacob and Shantanu were granted anticipatory bail by the Bombay High Court.

The Toolkit shared by Climate Campaigner Greta Thunberg on 3rd February 2021 has stirred up controversy and outrage.

Recently, the Whatsapp chats between Disha Ravi and Greta Thunberg were leaked. These show the former asking the latter to delete the tweet that disclosed the toolkit document regarding the Farmer’s protest.

Ravi had also moved the Delhi High Court seeking protection of her Right to Privacy.
