More than hundreds of Tibetans residing in India march towards the Chinese Embassy in New Delhi opposing the Beijing Winter Olympics while demanding freedom for their region.

The protesters waved the Tibetan Flags along with the placards scribed with messages such as “No Rights”, “No Games” and “Say No to genocide games”.

The Protesters were clamouring that China should leave Tibet and called for the International Community to voice up against Beijing.

The Protester Sonam Tsering, the General Secretary of the Tibetan Youth Congress asserted that,

“The Olympic Games symbolize the spirit of love and peace but this time they are being hosted by Beijing, which is responsible for the deaths of thousands of Tibetans and Human Rights violations of millions of people”.

The Protesters were enraged and raised slogans against China and burnt the Chinese flag before the Embassy. The Police Authorities had to step in when some of the Protesters were trying to run beyond the barricades near the Embassy.

A large number of Tibetans are residing in India, who are currently in exile following their spiritual leader Dalai Lama, who fled Tibet after the uprising of 1959 failed. China refused to give recognition to the self – declared Tibetan Government – in – exile in India and imposed Allegations upon Dalai Lama of requesting to separate Tibet from China.

The Human Rights Groups also called the Beijing Olympics as “Genocide Games”, while the US and other countries condemned that the Rights are being abused which is leading to the diplomat boycott of the event.

However, China refutes all the Human Rights Abuses, calling them all the “Lies of the century”.

India has decided not to send its top diplomat to Beijing Winter Olympics after the honour of carrying the Olympic torch was handed to the Chinese Soldier who was injured in the border clashes took place between the countries two years ago.
