Telangana BJP President Bandi Sanjay Bail Plea dismissed, sent to 14 days judicial remand

Telangana President for BJP and Karimnagar MP, Bandi Sanjay Kumar will be produced before the District Court of Karminagar. He was booked under the Disaster Management Act and other sections for violating the Covid norms and attacking the Police.

Karimnagar District Court rejected the bail petition of BJP State president and Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar and four others, and sent them to judicial remand for 14 days.

Sanjay was Arrested on the night of January 2, 2022 for violating Covid Norms by starting a ‘Jagarana Deeksha. He sought to go on the Deeksha demanding that changes be made to GO 317 by the State Government and justice be done to the teachers and employees.

The Police went to Sanjay’s camp office and opened the locked gates by using gas cutters and shattered the windows. The BJP activists including women were dragged out of the office and were pushed aside. The Police also shot water cannons.

An onlooker stated, It was a war-like situation here.” Several activists protesting were wounded and OBC Morcha leader Mantena Kiran suffered a fracture to his leg.

The Police refused permission for the Deeksha and Arrested Sanjay when he violated the instructions and norms for undertaking the Deeksha. This was done by the Police following the strict orders issued by State and Central Governments keeping in mind the fast-spreading Omicron variant.

Sanjay stated that the Police was partisan as it had not implemented the Covid 19 rules when K T Rama Rao held rallies with thousands of people. He stated, “The days are nearing for KCR and his son to go to jail.”

Sanjay was shifted at night to the Manakondur Police station and continued his protest there. He was brought to the Police Training Centre in Karimnagar on morning of January 3, 2022.
