A Magisterial Court in Surat directed the City Police Department to file a case of Attempt to Murder against three cops of Umra Police Station.

The Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) pronounced the Verdict directing the police department to file a case against Nilesh, Dhansukh and one other policeman posted at Umra Police Station.

The case came in light when the Victim’s father filed a Court complaint after a police complaint was not registered against the Accused Cops for assaulting a 23-year-old man Samir Ansari, who ended up in a coma.

It was highlighted that Samir with his few friends while leaving a coffee shop in Vesu ,they were objected by one of the Accused cops that he was not wearing Mask appropriately, amounting to violation of Covid-19 Rules.

Samir requested the cops to let him go, the cops ignored his request and dragged him to the police van where they made him sit on the floor of the vehicle.

Further the Accused Cops kept on thrashing him on the head while taking him to the Police Station in a Police Van.

Furthermore, after about 20 minutes Samir was detained and admitted to New Civil Hospital.

The Victim’s father approached the police to register a complaint against the cops. But when First Information Report (FIR) was not filed, Samir’s father approached the Court.
