Supreme Court pulls up Delhi Government over reopening Schools

Expressing concerns over the air pollution crisis in Delhi, the Supreme Court on Thursday questioned the State Government as to why children are being forced to go to school when the Government has implemented work from home for adults.

“We feel there is nothing happening in spite of air pollution levels rising,” the Supreme Court observed. The Court also questioned that why no measures were being taken to curb the problem of rising pollution to which Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, replied that the Government is equally concerned and requested the Court to grant him a day to consult with the authorities and come up with measures to deal with the problem.

Also, the AQI of the Capital on Thursday was recorded at 312 which is very poor according to the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research. 

The Court has granted 24 hours to the Government to come up with some measures and will hear the matter tomorrow i.e. December 3, 2021 at 10:00 AM.
