Supreme Court finds clerk of Advocate guilty of Sexual Harassment, bars entry for 3 month

Ashok Saini, clerk of an advocate has been barred by the Supreme Court to enter the premises of the Apex Court for 3 months after he was found guilty of sexual harassment.

The decision comes after the Gender Sensitization and Internal Complaints Committee (GSICC) of the Supreme Court conducted an inquiry and found him guilty of sexual harassment. 

The inquiry was conducted in furtherance of a complaint filed against Saini in front of GSICC. 

Realizing the seriousness of the complaint, GSICC conducted an inquiry under Regulation 11(1) (b), 11(1) (c) and 11 (2) (a) of the Gender Sensitization and Sexual Harassment of Women at Supreme Court of India ( Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Regulations Act, 2013.

After the inquiry, it was found that Saini was guilty of sexual harassment and thus was debarred from entering the premises of the Supreme Court of India for a period of 3 months, i.e. from 1 July, 2021 to 30 September, 2021.
