The Supreme Court has recently voiced its dissatisfaction with the submission of an extensive synopsis in a case brought before it.

This observation was made during the examination of a Special Leave Petition (SLP) challenging a ruling issued by the Karnataka High Court.

In its observation, the highest court took note of the fact that the order being contested from the High Court consisted of only 6 pages. However, the synopsis accompanying the Special Leave Petition submitted to the Supreme Court exceeded a substantial 60 pages.

Furthermore, the Court highlighted that the original trial court order, which had prompted the appeal before the High Court, was a mere 10 pages long.

A division bench comprised of Justice Abhay S Oka and Justice Pankaj Mithal expressed their concerns over the submission of such extensive pleadings.

Court underlined the notable disparity between the length of the documents presented and the succinct nature of the orders under dispute.
