State Board Exam: Plea before Kerala High Court against Govt for not granting grace Marks

A student has filed a Writ Petition in the Kerala High Court against the government decision of not awarding grace marks to students who appeared in the state board examination for the academic year 2020-21.

The petitioner is a Plus Two student of PMSAMA Higher Secondary School, Chemmakadavuand NSS Leader in the academic year 2020 -2021 had participated in various voluntary missions and attended various training programmes including State Level Leadership Training Programme for NSS Volunteers organized at Pilathara, Kannur.

The Government of Kerala has issued orders granting grace marks to NSS Volunteers in+2, VHSE etc. at the rate of 2% to NSS Volunteers having NSS Certificate,3% to NSS Volunteers attended National Camps and 5% to NSS Volunteers attended Republic Day Camps as stated by the petitioner. 

The petitioner has clearly pointed out the fact of how it adversely affects the NSS NCC cadets and how the grace mark helps in the matter of admission to various courses. 

This will have a serious bearing on the future prospects of the petitioner and similar students. Hence it is liable to be interfered with by the High Court.

The petitioner pleaded with the High Court to issue a writ of Mandamus commanding and compelling the state board not to publish the results of plus 2 examinations until the disposal of the Writ Petition.
