Sessions Court convicts four men to life imprisonment in Shiv Sena Leader murder case

Dindoshi Sessions Court on 23 December, sentenced 4 men to life for the 2014 murder of Shiv Sena leader Ramesh Jadhav.

The Court convicted Sohail Ansari along with three others while releasing a lady. Another convict who is juvenile, has his case unresolved before the Juvenile Justice Board.

The Homicide gave rise to riots within the native space and the case opposing the suspecting rioters is yet to hear before the Court.

The Crime was registered by the Dindoshi police against the 5 Accused who conspired the Murder of the politician and executed the plot by stabbing him in a small quarrel that was going on in the chawl on October 21, 2014 at Malad east in the night.

The 5 Accused were Arrested on October 22, 2014.

Ramesh Jadhav’s cousin (Complainant) submitted the names of Ansari, Yusuf Sazida, Imran Kazi and a minor were Assaulting a neighbour, but when intervened by Jadhav to handle the situation, it was reported that Ansari had held him while other pushed him to the and stabbed him. Jadhav succumbed to death while other were Charged for Homicide.

Kaushik Mhatre, Complainant’s Lawyer submitted to the Court that the incident primarily has the 20 eye-witnesses who had undergone the interrogation to show the Prosecution case.

He also informed the Court that the police have recovered the metallic pipes with blood marks and the Juvenile Accused had voluntarily disclosed the location of the weapon used.

However the Defence Lawyer, Bhanudas Jagtap argued that the Defendants had in fact tried to rescue the politician and took him to the hospital for remedy.

Although the Court could not find the adequate evidences of the medical or hospital entry report to agree the claim of the Defendants.

Thus, the Court passed the Life Imprisonment Verdict to the 4 Accused.
