On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission through video conferencing.

“Today begins a Mission that has the power to bring a revolutionary change in India’s health facilities. Three years ago, on Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya’s birth anniversary, Ayushman Bharat Yojana was implemented. Happy that Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission is being started nationwide from today,” stated PM Modi.

PM further added that ,”This Mission has potential to bring revolutionary changes in our health facilities.”

Talking about the mission and its aim, the PM stated that the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission will give dependable information, prompt better treatment and guarantee reserve funds for patients.

Explaining further, he stated that under this program people of the country will get a Digital Health ID.

Also talking about the benefits of the mission, the PM stated that the wellbeing records of each resident will be carefully secured, and that poor people and the working class will benefit the most from this mission.

In addition, the health records can be linked and viewed through a mobile application.

“The key components of the Mission include a Healthcare Professionals Registry (HPR) and Healthcare Facilities Registries (HFR) that will act as a repository of all healthcare providers across both modern and traditional systems of medicine. This will ensure ease of doing business for doctors/hospitals and healthcare service providers,” stated the release.

PM Modi also emphasized on the point that how technology has helped in the medical by giving the example of Arogya Setu application.

We have been able to take the vaccine to everyone, under the free vaccine campaign. India has been able to apply 90 crore vaccine doses today, and Co-WIN has a big role in it,” stated the PM.

PM Modi announced the pilot project of Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission last year on August 15 and currently the program is only implemented on a pilot basis in six Union Territories.
