Param Bir Singh arrest deferred till 22nd June

The senior advocate Darius Khambata representing the Maharashtra govt informed the Bombay High Court that it would not arrest Param Bir Singh till 22nd June in the case registered under Prevention of Atrocities (SC/ST) Act.

On Monday 24th may the counsel told another division bench that the govt shall not take any coercive action against MR Singh.

This petition was filled by Mr Param Bir Singh to quash the FIR registered against him by Mr Ghadge at Akola Police Station and another at Bazaar Peth Police Station.

In the FIR, Mr Singh, along with some others has been accused of implicating Mr Ghadge in some cases of extortion, after he had refused to follow Mr Singh’s orders to benefit some of the accused people in a criminal case.

Mr Singh on March 20, 21 had written a letter to the current Chief Minister of the state Mr Uddhav Thackery accusing that Mr Deshmukh (then home minister of the State) had directed the suspended officer Mr Sachin Vaze to Collect a sum of total 100crs from bars and restaurant in over a month.
