Pakistan Supreme Court Bar Association Applauds at Indian Supreme Court’s Initiatives

The Supreme Court Bar Association of Pakistan (SCBAP) has extended its appreciation to the Supreme Court of India for several commendable initiatives.

These initiatives include the implementation of e-filing, the provision of judgments in local languages, and the development of e-courts.

The SCBAP expressed its belief that fostering interactions between the legal communities of both nations could play a significant role in enhancing bilateral relations.

In a letter addressed to Adish C Aggarwala, President of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) of India and a distinguished senior advocate, the SCBAP conveyed its admiration for the Indian Supreme Court’s forward-thinking endeavors.

The SCBAP also expressed a keen interest in visiting India to witness these remarkable developments firsthand.

The SCBAP’s letter highlighted the reciprocal nature of these initiatives, emphasizing that similar measures have been introduced by the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

These measures include the provision of video link facilities, the publication of cause lists on their website, and various other measures aimed at improving access for lawyers in Pakistan.

Furthermore, the SCBAP extended an invitation to the SCBA of India, expressing a desire to acquaint themselves with the initiatives implemented by the Indian Supreme Court. The goal is to facilitate a constructive exchange of experiences and practices between the legal communities of both countries.

M Akhtar Shabbir, Secretary of the Supreme Court Bar Association of Pakistan, emphasized the belief that fostering interactions among legal professionals could significantly contribute to enhancing bilateral relations between Pakistan and India.
