Pakistan Foreign Minister blames previous Govt for mishandling Kulbhushan Case

Pakistan’s foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi blames the previous government for misdirecting the case of Kulbhushan Yadav, an Indian national who was convicted by the Pakistani military court for spying on the country.

He said “The PML-N are the ones who mishandled the Kulbhushan Jadhav case.” making it to the reference to the former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s Pakistan Muslim league.

A bill has been already passed by the lower house of the parliament, last week with accordance to the orders given by the International court of Justice.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi’s comments regarding the kulbhushan jadav’s case became a hot topic for debate regarding the bill in the parliament.

The bill which is passed by the lower house gives foreign national convicts by military courts the right to file an appeal before a high court and to also file petition regarding consular access, all these rights weren’t there before for any person who was convicted by the Pakistan military court. These were the recommendations given by the International court of justice.

About the bill, Shah Mehmood Qureshi said “India wants Jadhav not be given consular access, and on that excuse, Pakistan be dragged back into the International Court of Justice.”

India’s foreign ministry has not yet commented on this statement.
