The Narcotics Control Bureau has issued notice to filmmaker Karan Johar over the viral video he posted in 2019.

No date has been mentioned in the notice and there might be no need for Karan to visit the NCB office physically.

However, he has been asked to send documents/evidence of the details of the party he had organized. The video had included a lot of celebrities from Bollywood, which created a big controversy.

Claims were made that all the celebrities including Deepika Padukone, Arjun Kapoor, Malaika Arora, Shahid Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, etc. were in an inebriated state.

In several interviews, he had mentioned the party and made it clear that no drug substance was used in the party.

He said in one of the interviews, “There were achieving members of the industry who were having an easy night out after a hard week of work, having a good time. I took that video with all the earnestness… would I be putting out that video if there was anything happening at all, I am not stupid.”

He had distanced himself from all the allegations by posting on Instagram, “In view of the current malicious campaign. I am reiterating that the allegations are completely, baseless and false. No narcotics substance was consumed in the party. I WOULD LIKE TO UNEQUIVOCALLY ONCE AGAIN STATE THAT I DO NOT CONSUME NARCOTICS AND I DO NOT PROMOTE OR ENCOURAGE CONSUMPTION OF ANY SUCH SUBSTANCE.”
