In light of the upcoming G20 Summit, a highly anticipated international event, and the subsequent unavailability of police personnel and logistical resources, authorities have taken the decision to reschedule the National Lok Adalat in Delhi.

The event was originally slated to be held on September 9th, 2023, but will now take place on October 8th, 2023 (Sunday) in various Delhi District Courts Complexes.

The National Lok Adalat is an important occasion for the amicable resolution of a wide range of civil and criminal compoundable cases.

It provides an opportunity for parties involved to settle their disputes outside of traditional court proceedings. However, due to the heightened security measures and restricted movement of the public during the G20 Summit scheduled for September 9th and 10th, the event had to be rescheduled.

The Hon’ble Executive Chairperson of the Delhi State Legal Services Authority (DSLSA) expressed regret for any inconvenience caused by the rescheduling but emphasized the necessity of the decision considering the circumstances.

The postponement aims to ensure the safety and security of all participants and the smooth functioning of the G20 Summit.

The rescheduled National Lok Adalat will take place across several Delhi District Courts Complexes, including Tis Hazari, Karkardooma, Patiala House, Rohini, Saket, Dwarka, and Rouse Avenue Courts Complexes.

Additionally, the event will also be organized on October 8th, 2023, at the High Court of Delhi, Debt Recovery Tribunals (DRTs), Permanent Lok Adalats, Delhi State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, and District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commissions.

To ensure that all litigants and parties are informed about the rescheduling, all concerned courts, forums, tribunals, and stakeholders are urged to promptly communicate the new date to the involved parties.

Litigants and parties are encouraged to submit applications for listing their cases in the National Lok Adalat before the relevant courts, forums, or tribunals where their cases are pending. For cases with pre-litigative matters, parties are advised to submit their applications to the office of the undersigned no later than September 26th, 2023.
